Hi, I’m Dustin Svehlak, the owner and operator of Voltaic Video, based in Austin, Texas. I’ve been a videographer since 2011, working with some of the funniest standup comics in town. In 2016, that passion led to the production of Funniest, a feature-length documentary following Austin’s comedy scene. It premiered at the Austin Film Festival and was a huge milestone in my career.
But my work goes beyond comedy. In 2019, I transitioned into local news, taking on the role of Senior Producer. Along the way, I’ve been honored to receive two regional Emmy awards and an Edward R. Murrow Award for my work in documentary storytelling.
When I’m not behind the camera, you can usually find me hitting the bike trails or traveling with my wife. We also share our home with three cats—Nugget, Squeadle, and Waylon—who make sure life is never boring.
If you’re interested in collaborating or just want to talk about filmmaking (or cats!), feel free to reach out. I’d love to connect!
